Cacao is best known as the main ingredient in chocolate. Cacao powder is very versatile, and many people add it to their diet when they crave a natural chocolate treat. Grown in Africa, the cacao beans are fermented to enhance their rich flavour. The natural fat (cacao butter) is then removed and the remaining cacao is delicately ground to form a rich powder.

Make your own chocolate, use in baking or make your own hot chocolate.

Take 7g (1 tablespoon) per day.

Inspiration:
Hot Cacao

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Green Origins Cacao Powder
  • 1 mug of milk of your choice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

Method:

Put the cacao, cinnamon powder and maple syrup into a saucepan and add a splash of milk. 

Slowly heat until a paste forms and then gradually add the rest of the milk, stirring constantly until smooth. 

Heat until it's warm enough to drink. 

Pour into a mug and enjoy. 

Optional:If you like it extra hot, why not try adding a pinch of fresh chilli?
